To ask it another way, why do we sometimes hear nothing but silence from God? Is it silent love? Is it the cold silence of indifference, or of disapproval, or of anger? Are we just not listening? Are we not asking? Are we asking with wrong motives? Is God simply saying no to our prayer? Are we supposed to be feeling something more? The encouraging news is that saints through the centuries have also struggled with the deep silence of God. So, we are not alone in our aloneness, you and I.
