Elle Granger and her 8 year-old-daughter, Hope, have returned to Indian Lake when Elle has inherited her family’s Starlight Drive In Theater. Elle, an event planner, does not see the rusted tin roof of the snack bar, or the broken down fence and the missing audio boxes. But Elle does. Elle can’t wait to go back to Phoenix and all her young friends. Mrs. Beabots is the first to welcome Elle and insists Elle and Hope rent her third floor apartment.

Elle jumps right into the renovations and her plans to keep to the retro theme of the theatre. She orders a 1955 red Chevrolet convertible car from an antique car dealer in Miami, not knowing he is a con man and is wanted in three states.

Cillian Connery, a bounty hunter and former Special Agent Criminal Investigator for Interpol in Ireland , who now lived in Miami, had been searching for con man and suspected murderer, Walter Sightes.
