The Brave New World Interviews & Purports - Talks by Aldous Huxley by Geoffrey Giuliano

"There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self."
"One of the great attractions of patriotism - it fulfills our worst wishes."
"The secret of genius is to carry the spirit of the child into old age, which means never losing your enthusiasm." Aldous Huxley
Aldous Huxley was an English writer and philosopher. He wrote nearly fifty books, both novels and non-fiction works—as well as wide-ranging essays, narratives, and poems.
Born into the prominent Huxley family, he graduated from Oxford, with an undergraduate degree in English literature. Early in his career, he published short stories and poetry and edited the literary magazine Oxford Poetry, before going on to publish travel writing, satire, and screenplays. Huxley spent the latter part of his life in the United States, living in Los Angeles from 1937 until his death. By the end of his life, Huxley was widely acknowledged as one of the foremost intellectuals of his time. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature nine times and was elected Companion of Literature by the Royal Society of Literature in 1962.
Includes a rare treasury of ultra-rare previously unheard conversations with the esteemed intellectual.

Sugar Mountain by Alfred Alcorn

A NOVEL SET DURING A PANDEMIC WHICH STARTED IN CHINA AND EXPLORES WHAT IT TAKES TO SURVIVE AGAINST ALL ODDS. THIS ‘WHAT IF’ VERSION WRITTEN IN 2013, MAKES ONE FEAR HOW PEOPLE MIGHT REACT IF THE CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 SHUT THE WORLD DOWN.
Fiction. SUGAR MOUNTAIN is a cautionary tale about an all-too-possible catastrophe: a deadly flu epidemic that starts in China and spreads throughout the world, slowly at first, then unbelievably fast. And there is no cure. People who prepare for such possibilities are variously referred to as “homesteaders,” “preppers,” or “survivalists.” This is a story of one such extended family, the Arkwrights, and how, at their farm in western Massachusetts, they gather and stand together in the face of a relentless mass killer. As well as the ravaging influenza, they must contend with provisioning themselves and fending off a local well-armed and ruthless paramilitary group all the while hanging on to enough humanity to make their survival meaningful. SUGAR MOUNTAIN explores how such a calamity affects individual family members, their neighbors—many of whom are not prepared—and society as a whole. This is a story of a fight to survive in the midst of pressures and threats and against long odds. As one member of the family records in her journal, “The world is coming to an end…The world is starting all over again.”

The Belcher by Luke Schmaltz

The Belcher – Overserved Underdog: Synopsis
Narrated by Author Luke Schmaltz
A long-brewing clash between a Mile-High music legend and an aggressive government censor has come to a head, as Pablo Vasquez — aka The Soothsayer — must contend with the diabolical Blatherskite and his minions. To bolster his crusade, Vasquez recruits Earl Danners — a prolific beer drinker with a burgeoning talent for belching forth sonic blasts of guttural decimation.
A reluctant hero, Earl must quickly grow into his role of The Belcher as advancing forces of evil threaten to stomp out every iteration of artistic expression and rip apart the very essence of life itself.
The Soothsayer and The Belcher encounter other outcasts and biological super freaks and form a rag-tag team of vigilantes with Knockers, Red-eye Robinson, The Whine-o and an alluring femme fatale named Cricket.
Together, they align against Blatherskite, the ranks of the Environmental Agency of Restrictions (EAR), the Army National Guard and a sinister, stench-spewing super villain known as The Gasser.
The standoff escalates into an urban war, and the face of downtown Denver will never again be the same …

But island life was not all it was cracked up to be and a quest to find other survivors and more curry draws them back into the thick of battle. Except this time they do it without Betty the battle truck, making do with ‘Das Gas Ship’ a massive LNG tanker vessel. Along the way the flood gates to another world open and the battle takes on an unworldly quality. The mixed up zombie warrior team of unlikely people grows with the discovery of other survivors, including a girl and her mother who seem to be stealing Doug’s affections and a young man just as crazy as Jim. If this is the hope of humanity then humanity is doomed.Onwards for vindaloo or for death!
