Quick Progress Report for March 2024
SOUNDED: So. David. What have you been upto at Sounded this last February?
DAVID BROWN: Honestly, its been a difficult month but we've got a lot done. We added the first wave of over sixty thousand books that are making their way to the store, as well as bringing to life a number of new voice artists.
SOUNDED: That sounds like fantastic progress. What were the main difficulties in bringing that many audiobooks to life?
DAVID BROWN: HonestlyThe new content was broken up into a huge number of new categories. Over three thousand to be precise. You might have started to see the beginnings of this on the main dot com site, but its a lot of categories and a lot of audiobooks.
SOUNDED: It's definitely starting to look a lot more like a bookstore in there now!
DAVID BROWN: Yes, it definitely is. But it brings a lot of new problems, like how listeners find and hunt out their next great story. We've started to think this through but it's bringing up a lot of new questions rather than providing any definitive answers.
SOUNDED: So what does that look like in reality?
DAVID BROWN: Well, we've created the three tier system in categories now. There are about fifty master categories like fiction and self help, then this starts to filter down into sub genres like classics or science fiction. Popular categories like romance contain a number of filters there too, like historical or fantasy, which really helps you home in on that perfect title.
