William Bender is an American author, born in 1975 in New York City. He grew up in a family of writers and artists, which inspired him to pursue a career in writing. Bender attended Columbia University, where he studied creative writing and literature. Bender's writing career began with short stories and essays published in literary magazines. His first book, a collection of short stories titled "The Last Days of the American Empire," was published in 2002. The book received critical acclaim and established Bender as a rising talent in the literary world. In 2005, Bender published his first novel, "The End of the World as We Know It." The book was a dystopian thriller set in a future where climate change has devastated the planet. The novel was a commercial success and was praised for its vivid world-building and complex characters. Bender's next book, "The Incredible Aliens," was published in 2010.
