L. Ron Hubbard was an American author, philosopher, and founder of the Church of Scientology. He was born on March 13, 1911, in Tilden, Nebraska, and grew up in a family of ranchers and farmers. Hubbard was an adventurous young man who traveled extensively and pursued various careers, including writing, photography, and filmmaking. Hubbard's literary career began in the 1930s when he started writing pulp fiction stories for magazines. He quickly gained popularity as a writer of science fiction and fantasy, and his stories were published in numerous magazines, including Astounding Science Fiction, Unknown, and Weird Tales. Some of his most famous works from this period include "Fear," "Typewriter in the Sky," and "The Ultimate Adventure."
