L. Adams Beck was a British author born in 1878 in London, England. She was the daughter of a wealthy businessman and grew up in a privileged household. She was educated at home by her mother and later attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
In 1904, she married a Canadian businessman and moved to Canada. It was during her time in Canada that she began writing. Her first book, "The Way of Initiation," was published in 1910 and was a study of theosophy.
Beck's writing focused on spiritual and mystical themes, drawing heavily on her interest in theosophy and Eastern religions. Her best-known work is "The Ninth Vibration and Other Stories," a collection of short stories published in 1921. The stories in the collection are set in India and explore themes of reincarnation, karma, and spiritual enlightenment.
