Anne Warner was an American author who was born in 1869 in New York City. She was the daughter of a wealthy businessman and grew up in a privileged environment. Warner was educated at private schools and later attended Bryn Mawr College.
Warner began her writing career in the early 1900s and published her first novel, "Susan Clegg and Her Love Affairs," in 1904. She went on to write several other novels, including "The Rejuvenation of Aunt Mary," "The Goldfish," and "The Tigress," which was published in 1920.
"The Tigress" is considered to be Warner's most famous work. It tells the story of a young woman named Rosamund who marries a wealthy man but finds herself trapped in a loveless marriage. Rosamund becomes involved with another man and is eventually forced to choose between her husband and her lover.
Warner's writing was known for its humor and wit, and she often wrote about the lives of wealthy and privileged people. Her works were popular during the early 20th century and were widely read by women.
